English miniature portrait of William Gregory (1762-1840)  painted by Andrew Plimer in 1789 when subject was 27 years of age.  Image size is 2" x 1 3/4"  Signed on back - see photo.  Mounted in a gold filled case and engraved Wm Gregory 1789.  Sir William Gregory was the Under Secretary for Ireland from 1812-1830.
